Studio

Engineers who’ve
run the operation.

Brandwerk is a commerce technology studio. We’ve spent fifteen years inside ecommerce businesses, so we build technology the way the people running it need it to work.

01 — Why we exist

Why we exist

Ecommerce businesses usually buy technology in pieces. One agency for the storefront, another for the ERP, a freelancer for the integrations, and nobody responsible for how it all fits together.

We’ve been the people on the inside dealing with the result. Brandwerk exists to be the one team that understands the whole operation, and can design, build and fix any part of it.

02 — How we think

Opinions we’ll share in the first meeting.

  1. 01

    Find out what’s actually there.

Most requirements are guesses. Before we recommend anything, we look at the systems, the data and the people using them.

  2. 02

    Fix what matters first.

Not everything needs replacing. We’ll tell you what to leave alone, which is usually more than you expect.

  3. 03

Build it so someone else can run it.

Complexity makes the person who built it hard to replace. We document, we hand over, and we don’t hold your stack hostage.

  4. 04

A prototype is not a product.

However finished it looks on someone’s laptop. We take things all the way to production, then keep them there.

03 — How we work

Four steps. No account managers relaying messages to juniors.

  1. 01

    Look

A short discovery. Systems, data, processes and the commercial goal behind the request.

  2. 02

    Plan

A written plan in plain English: what we’ll do, in what order, what it costs and what it changes.

  3. 03

    Build

Small releases, shown early. You see working software, not status reports.

  4. 04

    Run

We stay on to support and improve it, or hand it over cleanly to your team.

04 — Experience

Fifteen years inside ecommerce businesses, through acquisitions, replatforms and rapid growth.

  • Consolidated multiple ecommerce brands, storefronts and back offices into one operation after acquisitions.
  • Replatformed established retailers onto Shopify Plus, with the ERP, warehouse and marketing stack rewired behind them.
  • Implemented and integrated ERP across ecommerce, trade and B2B channels.
  • Built warehouse scanning and fulfilment software that runs on the shop floor.
  • Run multi-brand, multi-market commerce day to day, not on a slide.
  • Built the data pipelines and reporting the finance team actually uses.

Ecommerce platforms, ERPs, warehouses, marketplaces, trade portals, CRMs and marketing tools. We’ve lived with them day to day, which is different from having read about them.
